There Is A Young Man Who Lives On Deborah Lane. Every Morning At About 6:30am, He Drives His Crazy Truck Down The Street. The Exhaust Is Obviously Shot On This Beat Up Truck & It Wakes Up The Entire Street. It Is So Loud, Honestly Scares The Life Out Of You. The Speed He Is Going Is Nuts. I Would Have To Guess At Least 50 Mph Up The Street. This Also Occurs In The Evening As Well. So Fast And Loud, It Is Frightning. He Is Eventually Going To Hit Someone Or Something. This Is An Accident Waiting To Happen. Hello!! I Know He Lives With His Parents. I Think They Need To Say Something To Their Son. Fix The Loud Offensive Truck & Drive At A Safe Speed. I Am Telling You Now, The Police Already Know All About This And Have His Plate Number. Stop Making Everyone On Deborah Lane Have To Live With This. Be A Little Considerate To All Who Reside Here. Take Control Of Your Son, Before He Hurts Someone. Children Live On This Street!!!!

I Just A Read An Article In The Buffalo News Concerning Mr. Gaughan's Recent Meeting In Lancaster, Ny At Eddie Ryan's. First, I Think The Owner Of That Restaurant Is Being A Jerk! If Any Random Group Of People Come Into Your Restaurant And Their Topic Turned Into A Polictical Discussion What Would Do You Do? Throw Them Out Because You're Afraid People Will Boycott Your Restaurant? Your Restaurant Is Not A Private Country Club, If You Don't Want People Dicussing Certain Issues, Post A Sign On Your Front Door That States "freedom Of Speech Is Not Allowed Here"! Typical, Looking Out For Number One, And The Just The Kind Of Establishment I Will Stay Away From! I'm Also Tired Of Seeing The Word "numbers"; Taxes Will Go Up Whether These Villages Are Dissolved Or Not, Seriously, When Do Taxes Ever Go Down? Depew Is A Worsening Area Of Blight And The Village Board Has Done Nothing To Change The Situation, Abandoned Houses With Skunks And Rodents Are Becoming More The Norm In Depew! People Need To Literally Get Out, It's Been A Long Winter, Look At The Overall Picture, Your Mayor Didn't Even Shovel Her Sidewalk, This Alone Screams I Don't Care About This Village Nor The People That Walk Around It! I Was Traveling Behind A Depew Patrol Car That Had Pulled Out Of The Police Station, As The Patrol Car Traveled North Down Transit Rd. A Football Was Overthrown (likely By Inebriated Guys) Landing In Front Of The Patrol Car, Near The Corner Of Gould And Transit. So, What Did The Officer Say To These Guys? Nothing! The Officer Put His Lights On So One Of Those Clueless Guys Could Walk Into Transit Rd. And Retrieve Their Football, Which Was Now Lying In Front Of The Patrol Car. Instead Of Getting Out Of His Patrol Car And Telling These Guys To Take The Football Throwing To A Safer Area, That Officer Ignored A Very Dangerous Situation, Because On My Way Back To Terrace Those Same Clueless Guys Continued Throwing That Football Into Traffic On Transit Rd. Cars Which Had To Abruptly Slam On Their Brakes! Yet, Without Ever Saying A Word, That Officer Nonchalantly Continued On Before Turning On To Columbia Ave., Which We've Already Established In Previous Posts Is The Area Where The Majority Of Depew Officers Live, And Most Likely To Patrol. I Now Sleep Better Knowing That My Taxes Are Keeping The Residents Around The French Rd. And Columbia Ave. Areas Safe! When My Tax Dollars Are Merely Going To A Police Department That Patrols The Homes Where They Reside, Ignoring Hazardous Situations And Turning A Blind Eye, Well, Numbers Become Irrelevant! Wake-up People, The Patrol Cars Only Drive Down Terrace Blvd. To Get As Far Out Of The Village As Possible! In Fact, You'd Be Getting The Same Services If The Villages Were Dissolved; Police, Library, Garbage Pick-up, Street Plowing. Right Now, You're Paying The Salaries Of The Individuals That Pretend To Run A Village That Does Not And Cannot Function Effectively, Unless Of Course You Consider The Snow Plow Drivers That Spend More Time Blowing Their Truck Horns At Empty Cars Parked In The Street Than Actual Plowing! And, If It's Not The Plows It's Garbage Pick-up Issues Or The Useless Garbage Can Lids! I See More Garbage Thrown Or Left Behind By The Garbage Collectors Along With Broken Or Lost Lids Now. Totes Would Also Have Been Less Of An Eye Sore Than Seeing Cans Sitting Around, Sometimes Days Before Garbage Day! It's Time To Dissolve The Village Of Depew, And Hope, Yes, Hope Lancaster And Cheektowaga Will Pick Up The Pieces Of A Broken Village! Books And Pictures Will Be The Remembrance Of A Village That Once Was, Depew Will Have Place In History, That's What Books Are For, And The Village Of Depew Now Belongs In A Book! Therefore, If And When Mr. Gaughan Comes To Depew I Hope The Taxpayers Will See This As An Opportunity To Do What Is Right For This Village, And I Also Challenge Any Restaurant In Depew To Welcome Him.

This Is In Response To The Angry Woman Wearing A Red Coat Driving A White Car Who Yelled At Me This Week After My Children Got On The Bus. Apparently, She Felt As Though I Was Lazy Because I Did Not Walk My Children Across The Street For Them To Get On The Bus At My Neighbors House, So She Didn't Have To Wait For The Bus To Make Two Stops. I Am Very Sorry That You Had To Wait For Two Whole Stops! You Must Be A Very Important Person, With A Very Busy Schedule. However, Just So You Know, At The Beginning Of The School Year We Did Try To Combine The Two Stops Into One And The Bus Driver Told Us That We Could Not Do That. They Want The Children To Learn The Proper Way To Cross The Street To Get On The Bus. Furthermore, All Of The Bus Drivers That I Have Seen For Alden Primary Do An Excellent Job Of Pulling Off To The Side Of The Road To Let People Pass Them So No One Is Overly Inconvenienced With A Frustrating Commute. Once Again, To The Unpleasant Woman Who Called Me Lots Of Nasty Names That Morning, Next Time You Decide To Verbally Assault Someone, You Should Stop And Ask Yourself Whether Or Not You Have All Of The Facts Before You Shoot Your Mouth Off!

I've Received A Flyer Obviously Written By Sloan Employees Desperate To Keep Their Paychecks. For Those Of Us Not Getting Paid To Live Here Though, Keeping The Village Of Sloan Makes No Sense. The Flyer Talks About All The "great" Service We Get Living In Sloan, But Neglects To Mention That Our Neighbors In Cheektowaga Get Just As Good, Or Better Service, But Without Paying Additional Village Taxes. With All The Scandals We've Had Over The Last Several Years Involving The Mayor, Clerk, Village Attorney, And Now The Highway Department Supervisor The Only Thing The Village Seems To Do Better Than Cheektowaga Is Waste Our Money.

Your Theology Regarding The End Of The World Is So Off Base It's Hard To Know Where To Start But Here Are A Few Points. Using Your Own Bible For Reference, When Asked By His Disciples When The World Would End Jesus Said That That Is Known Only To God And Not Even The Angels In Heaven Know The Day. Apparently, You Figured Out Something That Even The Angels Don't Know. Secondly, There Have Been So Many "doomsday" Prophets Over The Years That The Image Of The Long-bearded Man Wearing A Sandwich Board That Reads "the End Is Near" Has Become A Part Of Our Comedic Iconography. Thirdly, The Last Time A Christian Group Was Certain The World Was Going To End Was In The Late 1980's. I'm Sure Many Wny'ers Will Remember Seeing Billboards Around Town That Said The End Was Coming In October Of 1989. The Billboards Are Gone, We're Still Here. Fourthly, The Idea Of "the Rapture" Comes From One Of St. Paul's Letters And The Book Of Revelations. St. Paul Was Convinced That The World Was Going To End In His Lifetime, So Much So That He Advised His Followers To Not Even Bother Getting Married Because It Would Be A Waste Of Time. Yet 2,000 Years Later We're Still Here. What Do You Know That St. Paul Didn't? Futhermore St. Augustine, One Of The Earliest Christian Church "fathers" Thought That Anyone Who Took Revelations Literally Was "crazy" (his Words, Not Mine) And Martin Luther, The Great Protestant Reformer Felt That Revelations Was Such A Mass Of Nonsence That It Didn't Even Belong In The Christian Bible. So, In Closing, I Can't Say For Sure That I'll Still Be Here On May 12th Of 2011 But I Am Convinced That Most Of The People Alive Now, Both Good And Bad, Will Still Be Here. I Live On Alsace Avenue Near Mercy Hospital Parking Garage And The Marion Medical Center. I Walk The Street Often, My Children Ride Buses To School And One Has To Walk To The Corner To Catch The Bus. From The Edge Of The Parking Garage To The Corner Is Covered With Dog Feces. I Have Seen My Neighbor's Son Walking Their Dog (not Leashed, Never Leashed) Up And Down Our Street Allowing Her To Poop Wherever She Pleases. I Have Talked To The Son On Many Occasions Asking Him To: Pick Up The Messes, Leash His Dog (he Now Has Two) And To Keep His Dog Away From My Home. I Am A Dog Owner And I Keep My Dog Fenced In And Clean Up After My Dog. The Child Gives Me Rude Gestures, Insults Me, Denies It Or Ignores Me. I Never See His Father Or Any Other Adult For That Matter To Complain To. Why Should We Have To Put Up With This Dog Running Rampant Pooping Everywhere But In Her Own Yard? I Have Had Enough With Being Civil And Am Going To Call Dog Control. Pure Ignorance. Every Other Owner Cleans Up After Their Dogs.

Before My Husband Hung Up The Phone From A 911 Request For Help, We Heard The Police Siren. The Police Were At Our Front Door With Oxygen Within Minutes. The Ambulance Arrived Soon After. People Like To Hear They Can Save Money But They Have To Consider The Services They Will Most Likely Be Giving Up. Remember In An Emergency Time Is Of The Essence.

I Was Finally Determined To Write After Reading Joe From Tonawanda's Article About The Thefts At The Aquatic Center. I Have A Senior Membership At The Center And Really Enjoy Going There And Taking My Grandchildren. I Had My Bathing Suit Stolen On New Year's Eve After Accidentally Leaving It On The Bench While Drying My Hair. I Thought Someone May Have Taken It By Accident And Would Return It. After Numerous Times Searching Through The Lost And Found Boxes I Am Realizing That This Is Not Going To Happen. I Know What I Lost Is Nothing Compared To The People Mentioned In Joe's Article But It Is Still Hard To Imagine Someone That Desparate To Steal A Senior Woman's Bathing Suit.

Today I Received A Letter From The United States Department Of Commerce U.s. Census Bureau Stating That In About One Week, I Will Receive A 2010 Census Form In The Mail. When You Receive Your Form, Please Fill It Out And Mail It In Promptly. Do They Really Need To Send Me A Letter To Tell Me They're Sending Me A Letter Next Week? Can You Imagine The Cost Of Mailing This Useless Letter To Every Household In The United States? That Money Spent On Paper, Printing, Envelopes, Postage And Manpower Could Have Been Spent In Hundreds Of Better Ways. No Wonder The Government Has No Money To Help People That Really Need It.
