    Priorities and accountability

    The news media spent (wasted) a third of tonight's 6 O'clock broadcast on a horrible accident today in Amherst. Four teenagers were killed. As usual, the story was filled with moans and tears but completely missed the point.

    The boy driver reportedly loved his car and loved to "drive fast". Speed and disobeying traffic signs was the cause of the 4 deaths. Toys, flowers and candles adorn the side of the road, but nowhere was it mentioned that we need to have sympathy for the INNOCENT people in the other car, who were driving sensibly and following the rules. A golden opportunity presented itself here....the media could preach about how irresponsible the teens were, and make them an example to teach the other kids in the neighborhood what can happen when you disobey the law. Instead, the media blew it. I may sound insensitive, but like I said what about the innocent people?
