    Mrs. G.L. Boardman, Mrs. Philip Davis, Mrs. L.A. Hulbert, Mrs. Cyrus Kingston, Miss Aileen Boyd and Miss Angeline Gemmallo attended the piano recital given by Roger Boardman Monday evening in Kilbourn Hall of Eastman School of Music, Rochester.
    William E. Bensley, Jr. has been reserved for the 1940 Baseball season by the Longview Club of the East Texas League.
    Mrs. James Gray, Sr. was the guest of Mrs. J.F. Hummer of Syracuse from Thursday until Saturday of last week. Mr. Gray was in Albany on business.
    Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Viele and daughter, Kay, of Little Valley, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. M.J. Gorman.

    The extra entrance to our parking lot, extending from Mill Street to the rear of the lot, is fast becoming completed. The road bed is now complete, and come better weather, the finishing touches will be added and road-way open for public use.

    G.I.’s varsity football squad placed three players on the ECIC Division III All-Star first team: Greg Haddad, Don Ballantyne and Dale Weiss. Gary Taylor, Ferris Abdo, Nick Stuart, Jim Baker and Robert Knavel were picked for Honorable Mention.
    Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wittmeyer of Genesee Road, Springville, observed their 60th wedding anniversary on November 24th.
    Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Cobo, Sr. of Mill Street, Springville, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on November 30, with an open house.

    On Wednesday, November 21, 50 senior citizens were served a Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings at the Middle School cafeteria. For two years, the senior citizens have purchased meals for $1.00 at the school on the second and third Wednesdays of the month.

    A strong second-half performance in Rich Stadium powered the S-GI Griffins to a 30-14 victory over Starpoint, a perfect 10-0 season and the Section VI Class B-2 championship. The victory assured GI of a post-season ranking of number one among Western New York small schools in football.

    Cattaraugus Central School residents voted Nov. 18 to annex Little Valley Central School into the Cattaraugus District, by a margin of 983 to 730.
    The Springville Journal Warm the Children Fund received more than $1,800 in recent donations, resulting in enough money on hand to take 23 additional needy children on shopping trips to buy new winter clothing. So far this year the fund has been able to outfit 89 local needy children. Recent contributors include Linda Lee, Springville; Pat Arbore, East Concord; Lorraine G. Smith, Anchorage, Alaska, Gary and Donna Ehinger, Springville; Jim and Jeanne Kramer, Springville; Don and Kathie Feuz, Colden.
    The West Valley varsity football team was presented with the Leon Abbott Memorial Sportsmanship Award during last week’s 52nd annual Olean Times Herald Big 30 Football Testimonial.
