The arrest of three men following an altercation in a parking lot in the village has been reported by Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard.
Deputies Doug Grube, Tim Colling and Eric Major, along with Springville Police Officer Dave Hock, responded to report of a fight in the parking lot of Academy and Franklin streets in the village of Springville. Upon arrival and questioning of witnesses, it was revealed that an altercation erupted between two men from a prior argument in a local bar. Witnesses stated that 32-year-old Michael L. Dodd of Route 240, West Valley, was walking to a friend’s apartment in Springville when he was confronted by 27-year-old Henry A. Abramowski of Meadow Drive, Hamburg. Abramowski apparently pulled a knife to threaten Dodd, who then went after Abramowski and punched him in the face multiple times. The two went to the ground, fighting each other. Friends and bystanders were able to separate the two and the officers arrived shortly after. Prior to the patrol’s arrive, Abramowski handed the knife to his friend, 34-year-old Scott W. Hill of North Buffalo Street, Springville, to hide it from patrol.
Abramowski was arrested and charged with menacing and criminal possession of a weapon. He was taken to the Erie County Holding Center and held pending arraignment in the Village of Springville Court. Dodd was charged with assault and released on appearance ticket. Hill was charged with obstructing governmental justice and released on appearance ticket to return to Village of Springville Court at a later date.
