In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness month, the Bertrand Chaffee Hospital Foundation would like to announce its campaign to bring digital mammography to Springville and the surrounding communities. Digital mammography, the highest standard of breast cancer screening technology, is an essential preventive measure in the detection of breast cancer and early detection saves lives.
Bertrand Chaffee Hospital — our hospital — may merely be thought of as a modest sized healthcare facility in a rural community. However, the standard of quality that Bertrand Chaffee Hospital achieves is nothing short of exceptional. In fact, did you know that many publicly available quality indicators consistently rank Bertrand Chaffee Hospital among the top performing hospitals in the region and significantly better than most hospitals in New York state?
The communities served by Bertrand Chaffee Hospital need to be diligent in support of our local hospital to assure that our high quality outcomes continue and that our hospital will remain in service to us all for many years to come.
The Bertrand Chaffee Hospital Foundation feels that the patients in our community ought to have access to the same great technology that patients in urban areas have. Digital mammography — soon to be standard of care in most communities — should be available to our community as well. However, digital mammography technology is quite costly and with a price tag of approximately $350,000, we will need your help.
