NOONAN, James of Lockport, husband of the Phyllis Noonan, entered into rest Jan. 10, 2014 in Lockport.
He was born in Niagara Falls Sept. 14, 1928,
son of the late Carlos and Kathleen Noonan.
James a devoted father and husband worked for more than 50 years as a realtor including owning the McKnight-Hogan & Noonan brokerage in Lockport.
Father of Shelley (Thomas) MacDonald of Ithaca, Kathyanne (Beshara) of Syracuse, Patrick (Jacqueline) of Paris, France, Timothy (Carol) of Raleigh, N.C., Phyllis Lapp of Lockport and Alison (Daniel) Hayes of Canandaigua. Brother to Alice Atkinson, Rosemary Dawdy, Howard (Karen) Noonan and the late Robert Noonan. Also survived by 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews.
James while always putting his family first, was a gentleman farmer for 15 years and loved fishing the lakes of Ontario, Canada especially the Muskoka Lakes home of his maternal Scottish ancestors. James was also proud of his service in the United States Navy during WWII as an onboard radar specialist doing several tours through the Mediterranean Sea.
Burial will be in Niagara Falls Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flower; memorials to Alzheimers Association, Western New York Chapter, 2805 Wehrle Drive, Suite 6, Williamsville, N.Y. 14221 would be appreciated by the family.
EMIGH, Kathleen Fitzgerald of Lockport passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014 after a long illness.
She was born in Clearfild, Penn. on June 2, 1926. Kathleen married the late Forrest J. Emigh on Feb. 16, 1952.
She was a member of Warrens Corners UMC. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, trips to the casino, shopping and spending time with her family.
Kathleen was predeceased by her daughter, Judy Emigh Schroeder.
She is survived by her daughters, Janet (Edward) Lieberman and Joyce (Kevin) Vincent. Also six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren all of Lockport.

SHARKEY, Martha A. passed away Jan. 6, 2014 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport.
Born in Lockport on Nov. 5, 1949 she was the daughter of Joseph J. and Delores (ONeil) Hunt.
Martha was a graduate from Lockport High School Class of 1967 and worked Harrison radiator where she was the cafeteria manager for 20 years retiring in 1995. She enjoyed bowling, boci, playing cards and was a member of the Redmen.
She is survived by her sons, Kevin (Debbie) Sharkey of Wilson and Luke (Pritha) Sharkey of Alexandria, Va.; grandmother of Kyle and Erik; sister of David (Judi) Hunt of Rochester, Paul Hunt of Lockport, Barbara (late Larry) Harris of Finley Lake and Cathy (Robert) Currie of Lockport; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

CASINELLI, Connie L., 65, of Lockport passed away peacefully Jan. 13, 2014 surrounded by her loving family following a lengthy illness.
Born in Hornell, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Barbara Friends of Jasper.
Connie married Tony Casinelli Sept. 30, 1967 in Jasper. She graduated from Jasper Central School and furthered her education at Olean Business Institute. She was employed at Ontario Primary School in Ontario, N.Y. for many years.

Born in Saranac on Feb. 18, 1920 she was the daughter of Joseph and Ruth (Hackett) Gonyea. Evelyn enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, painting, playing BINGO and especially enjoyed breakfast every morning with her late husband, Arthur T. Bouyea who passed away March 1, 2008.

SMITH, Roy A. passed away Jan. 10, 2014 in Absolut of Gasport.
Born in Wyoming, N.Y. on May 6, 1931 he was the son of Walter and Laura (Taylor) Smith.
Roy served in the National Guard from 1950 to 1959. He drove tractor trailer for 40 years and then drove bus for 17 years at Ridge Road Express. Roy was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan, enjoyed lighthouses and driving any type of vehicle, it was his life.
Roy is survived by his wife, Paula (Flohr) Smith of Sanborn; father of Lawrence (Becky) Smith of Medina, William (Neva) Smith of Williamsburg, Va., Debbie Chaddendon of Lockport, Penney (David) Botsford of Medina, Jodi VanDelinder of Buffalo and Kiera Smith of Sanborn; also several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. SCHEFFLER, Elizabeth Mae, nee Ward, 93, entered into eternal peace on Jan. 11, 2014 at the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs Rehabilitation Center.
Elizabeth Mae was born on Jan. 22, 1920 a daughter of the late Ira Daniel and Dora Belle (nee Dodge) Ward.
She attended school in Wilson and soon after began working as a waitress. She also worked in many local businesses many of which are no longer familiar to most of us. She was a waitress at the Olcotta Restaurant in Olcott, where she fondly remembered receiving a $5 tip from Louis Armstrong.
She worked at Schefflers Hardware, Schefflers Restaurant, Schultzs Lakeside Market, Nevins Red and White, and Russ Hulberts pickle factory, all local Wilson businesses.
She also worked for many years mending felts at the Newfane Felt Mill. After retiring she worked as a seamstress out of her home mending and tailoring clothing for many of the Wilson community.
Mae always made the best of every situation and loved every job she had.
Mae was a member of Exley United Methodist Church, the Lockport Rebekah Lodge, St. Pauls Lutheran Bible study and quilters groups, and the Wilson and Newfane Golden Agers.
Mae loved life and had many hobbies and interests during her wonderful life. Some of the things she could be found enjoying were fishing(a Mothers Day tradition), playing cards, sewing quilts, doing cross-word puzzles, making dolls, camping with family, bowling, playing bingo, reciting poetry (often some she learned in grade school) and she especially cherished spending time with her family.
Mae was a very kind and fun-loving person. She had a generous heart and always gave everyone the benefit of the doubt.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Gordon Scheffler in 1996; her sister, Shirley Reising of Sebring Fla. and her sister, Mary Cleveley of Wilson.
Mae (or Mae-Mae as her great-grandchildren called her), leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her daughters, Susanne Elko and Patricia Drewes of Wilson; her grandchildren, Teresa (Ronald) Kam, Trisha Drewes of Wilson, Patti (Patrick) OKeefe of Russell, Ohio and Renee Drewes of Simpsonville, S.C.; her great-grandchildren, Jordan (Sabrina) Kam of Ransomville, Joseph Kam and Emily Mae Kam of Wilson, Heather (Kevin) Zastrocky of Lockport, Peyton, Parker and Abbey OKeefe of Russell and Bryce Drewes of Wilson; her friend, Joyce, Rohring and her lifelong pal Geraldine Swann; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18 at the Hamilton Clark Funeral Home, 270 Young St., Wilson. Burial will be private.

STEPHENSON, Patricia Jane of Lockport passed away Jan. 9, 2014 in Niagara Hospice House.
Born March 20, 2014 in Niagara Falls, she was a daughter of the late Edmund J. and Audrey I (Bridgeman) Stephenson.
Patricia attended local schools in Niagara Falls and in 1960 met and married Gary Ramming, Sr. She worked for General Motors, Harrisons and was a stay at home mom. She enjoyed yard work, bingo, crocheting, crafts, ceramics and sewing.
Patricia was an excellent seam-stress. She made all of her childrens clothes as well as her own. She also loved to make lap Afghans for the residents at Heritage Manor in Niagara Falls. Most of all she loved spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by a son, Gary Ramming, Jr. (Lori Wells); and daughter, Tracy (Randy) Kaiser; stepchildren, Kerri Newman and Jeremy Kaiser; brother, Larry J. Stephenson; and sister, Wanda E. (Donald) Burrows. Also survived by 16 nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.
Patricia is predeceased by two brothers, Edmund and Donald Stephenson; and one sister, Lydia L. OShea.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at Exley United Methodist Church.

Born in Lockport on Sept. 12, 1953 she was the daughter of the late Donald and Marilyn (Howard) Rutty and step-daughter of the late Russell Montgomery.
Patricia is survived by her husband of 30 years John Sanney of Lockport; mother of John Sanney, Jennifer (Jason) Eckertson, Amanda (Jim Breeze) Sanney and Angel Sanney all of Lockport; grandmother of five; sister of Gary (Andrea) Rutty, Kenneth (Jeanne) Rutty and the late Donald Rutty, Sandra McCoy and Debra Hood; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

BOND, Doreen I. passed away Jan. 5, 2014 in Briody Health Care Facility.
Born in Toronto, Ontario on Sept. 28, 1925 she was the daughter of Leslie and Gladys (Taylor) Blythe.
Doreen worked for the Toronto Star where she was a secretary and also Bells Grocery Store, Lockport where she was a buyer and a manager. She volunteered at Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport, the Senior Citizen Center and enjoyed camping.
Doreen was predeceased by her husband, Joseph R. Bond in 1985; and her son, Richard Bond.
Doreen is survived by her daughter, Linda (Anthony) DiPaolo of Lockport; grandmother of Diana Sparks, Sandra (Michael) Sperduti, Ben (Kari) DiPaulo, Tracey Bond, Jeremy Bond and Joseph Bond; great-grandmother of James Sparks, Mason Sparks, Sandra Sparks, Jacquilyn Sperduti, Samanatha Sperduti and Anthony DiPaolo.

PITISS, Mary E. of Lockport passed away Jan. 6, 2014 in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital.
Born in Buffalo on May 29, 1945 she was the daughter of William T. and Celestine (Work) Hamilton.
Mary worked for the VNA where she was a medical records clerk for 16 years retiring in 2008. She enjoyed camping, knitting and crocheting. Mary volunteered at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church and was a lifelong girl scout.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Roger Pitiss of Lockport; cherished mother of Eileen Pitiss of West Seneca, James Pitiss of Lockport, Gary Pitiss of Wheatfield, Carolyn (Ray) Rustowicz of Hamburg and Sharon (Lars) Hansen of Fairbanks, Ark.; beloved grandmother of Nicholas, Brittany, Angelika, Timothy, Gary, Matthew and Rorik; beloved great-grandmother of Braydin; caring sister of Tom (Gail) Hamilton of Rochester, Carol (John) Galus of St. Louis, Mo. and Joan Stoddard of West Seneca; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Pauline worked as a nurses assistant at Lockport Memorial Hospital.
She enjoyed trivia, helping others, reading and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
